Artist's Comments
Acrylic on paper; original colors corrected using Photoshop Elements (the camera did funky things to it when I took the picture)
For my Studio Art class color theory unit, we had to paint one of the objects in the center of the room, split it into four sections, and do a different color scheme in each section, each color scheme stemming from the same base color. There was a skeleton in the middle of the room. I chose the color red. Red + Skeleton = Red Death, in my mind! But it ended up looking more like a rainbow, so this is the Rainbow Death. I split the sections in such a way that it reminded me of a shattered mirror, which is another Phantom-related motif-type-thing. Clockwise from the top left, the color schemes: analogous, triadic, complementary, monochromatic. I think the triadic is my favorite. ^_^ |
